Research Grants
The Spierings Cancer Foundation is always looking for opportunities to provide grants for important cancer research. The goal of our research grant is to provide seed money to researchers starting new research projects to determine new methods of treating cancer, new directions in clinical and/or translational research, as well as existing research in need of additional funding. Unsolicited requests for funding are welcomed at any time of the year. Our Board of Directors and medical advisors generally review proposals as they are received. However, grant monies are usually given following our primary fundraiser, Rock Cancer held annually on the 3rd Saturday in August. There is no set format for proposals, but the Foundation generally requests a brief project narrative, lay language summary suitable for public use, budget and budget narrative. Research grants are limited to researchers and cancer centers in the state of Wisconsin.
